The winter is approaching and like everyone else I'm so excited for holiday cheer, snow, evenings by the wood stove and quality time with friends and family. But we all can relate when I say the winter is brutal on the skin. Dry hands, chapped lips and dead skin. Yuck!
But fret not for we have gathered some of our best tips to save your skin this winter.

1. Water water water!
Like anytime of the year your skins hydration levels in the winter depend greatly on how much water you consume. The average adult body is made of up to %60 water and your skin uses most of that water. The benefits of properly hydrated skin are
*Slower aging
*Smaller pores
*Reduced Puffiness
*Clearer complexion
*Balanced PH levels
*Healthier looking skin

Make sure you are drinking plenty of water throughout the day to flush out any toxins that build up and keep all your organs properly hydrated. Warning signs of dehydration are fatigue, headaches, irritated eyes, dry skin and a cloudy mind.

2. Weekly exfoliation

Using a good exfoliation product or brush at least once a week will aid in the shedding of dead skin cells and promote cell turnover. In turn, this will help keep your skin fresh and renewed for the challenging winter weather.

3. Heavy moistuizer
Everyone should be using a moisturizer in all seasons but during the winter it may be beneficial to switch to a heavier product. Ingredients to look for in your moisturizer are vitamin E (tocopherol) which helps heal and protect skin cells, Hyaluronic acid which aids in plumping and hydration the skin to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which promotes college production and keeps the skin glowing.

These are a few simple steps to keep your skin healthy and protected this winter. We would also recommend getting a hydrating facial once every four to six weeks to keep your skin in its best possible shape!
